Top 500 English State Primary Schools
Primary schools are ranked on their performance in standard assessment tests (Sats). We have taken the average scaled scores achieved by children in three areas – reading, GPS (grammar, punctuation and spelling) and mathematics – and aggregated their outcomes.
The Top 500 State Secondary Schools
Schools are ranked by performance at A-level and GCSE in summer 2019. The number of A*, A and B grades gained are expressed as a percentage. At GCSE the 9, 8, 7, A* and A grades gained are expressed as a percentage of the total number of GCSE entries overall.
