To support you in your journey, we have compiled a list of charities that offer vital assistance to Hong Kongers in the UK. These organisations provide a range of services, from mental health support to hate crime reporting. Our goal is to ensure you know help is available and there is always someone to listen, no matter the problem.

Papyrus
Over 25% of Hong Kong migrants report clinically significant anxiety symptoms, yet nearly 80% will not seek professional help (Hong Kongers in Britain, 2022). Papyrus offers free physical and digital resources to help those in need access the right support. These resources can be shared with relevant contacts or displayed in your organisation to provide immediate assistance.

Barnardo's
Barnardo's Boloh, the UK’s leading charity for children and families, has launched a dedicated helpline to support ethnic community families. Since February 2022, this helpline has expanded to offer dedicated services to Hongkongers relocating to the UK. Offering support in Cantonese and English, it provides free psychotherapy to address mental health and wellbeing needs, helping individuals navigate a new culture, education system, employment, and community integration challenges.

Hong Kong Well UK
Established to assist the growing number of Hongkongers relocating under the BN(O) visa scheme, Hong Kong Well UK offers a range of services including counselling, community integration programs, and mental health resources. Their mission is to provide a supportive community and ensure that every individual has access to the help they need to thrive in their new environment.

On Your Side
On Your Side is the UK-wide support and reporting service for East and Southeast Asian communities who experience racism and/or any forms of hate. The service includes a 24/7 freephone helpline available in East and Southeast Asian languages; a website with reporting forms and resources; and ongoing community-based support delivered by trained casework advocates. On Your side has community members at the centre. That means anyone can feel safe using the service. Unless somebody is in danger, we will never pass on anything we have been told to anybody else without permission.

An advocacy and support organisation that helps Hongkongers integrate into British society. They offer various services including housing assistance, legal advice, and community events.

This scheme, led by North-West England business leaders and funded by the Department for Levelling-Up, Housing & Communities, connects Hong Kong BN(O) residents with local employers. Offering free, meaningful employment opportunities, it supports their integration into the UK workforce and provides a real living wage.
